I no longer am receiving email. The last email received is dated 8/31/2026. How do I continue receiving email?

For Outlook.com, check these common causes in order:

    1. Check mailbox and cloud storage capacity. If Microsoft cloud storage is full, email cannot be sent or received, and messages sent while storage was full are bounced back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
    2. In Outlook.com, check the Other tab and make sure messages are not being filtered there.
    3. Check the Junk Email folder and Junk Email settings. If a message was marked as junk incorrectly, move it back with Mark as not junk.
    4. Restore the message list to date order: Filter > Sort > Date.
    5. Check whether email forwarding is enabled.
    6. Check whether any email rules are moving or hiding messages.
    7. If the account password was changed recently, update it. The account can also be temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity; if that happened, unblock the Outlook.com account.
    8. If one device is not syncing correctly, removing the partnership between that mobile device and the mailbox can fix sync issues.

If a specific sender cannot reach the mailbox and no error is shown, ask that sender to review Sender Support in Outlook.com.

If these steps do not fix it, in Outlook.com open Help, search for the issue, then scroll to Still need help? and select Yes to reach support options.
