Snipping Tool other options menu doesn't go away after selection of tool

Is it just me or does the pop-out menu/drop-down menu become glitchy or buggy where it does not hide itself again and stays visible on top of the screenshot you want to edit. For example, I want to use the square fill tool on the top of a screenshot, but the menu does not go away, it stays there blocking the screenshot area that I want to draw the square on, I hope this is not by design...

    This behavior has been included in the latest version of the Snipping Tool, and there is currently no method available to stop this new behavior.

    If that panel is blocking the area you want to edit on the screenshot, zoom the image out by pressing Ctrl and scroll down on your mouse wheel or by pressing Ctrl and ap the minus key, for now, that seems to be the only workaround.
