How to fix an account suspension

This is a tricky situation which sends me mad so any suggestions would be greatly received!

I am trying to recover my microsoft rewards after having left my corporate job, created a new microsoft account, and somehow getting it suspended as per the attached screenshot.

I have tried to recover my account using https://account.live.com/acsr but have neve been successful and the mobile number it thinks is linked to my account is not correct.

I fear that I will not be able to recover it but wondered if someone in the community had any ideas?

Thanks,

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you have encountered an issue with your Microsoft Rewards account.

When submitting a ticket at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2238907, you might or you may need to use a different account (in the event that the form is grayed out from your account) and let the relevant team know on what happened. Response times may vary due to workload or other tasks at hand, but rest assured that they will review your case and let you know on the outcome.

For a Microsoft Rewards suspension, the practical next step is to contact Microsoft Rewards Support directly. Community forums cannot review or reinstate a suspended Rewards account.

Common reasons a Rewards account can be suspended include:

    • maintaining multiple user accounts
    • providing inaccurate account information
    • using a VPN, bot, macro, emulator, or other automated method
    • trying to earn or redeem points across different countries in ways that violate policy

Since the account recovery form at account.live.com/acsr has not worked and the phone number on file appears incorrect, use the Rewards support form instead:

When submitting the request, clearly explain:

    • the old corporate account is no longer in use
    • a new Microsoft account was created after leaving that job
    • the Rewards account was suspended
    • the phone number shown for recovery is not correct
    • the suspension is believed to be a mistake

If the issue is actually with the Microsoft account itself being blocked or locked, these supported self-service options are available:

    1. Try unlocking the Microsoft account by signing in and requesting a security code.
    2. Any phone number that can receive text messages can be used for the security code; it does not need to be associated with the account.
    3. If verification is blocked, try another verification method, try another network, and avoid repeated attempts. Waiting 24 hours can help, and in some cases waiting longer may be necessary.
    4. Use the Microsoft sign-in helper for sign-in issues.

If the account was compromised, Microsoft also recommends:

    1. Run a full malware scan on the PC first.
    2. Then change or reset the password.
    3. Review connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies.
