Startups: Companies that are in their initial stages of business and typically developing a business model and seeking financing.
The verification message is generic and does not provide the exact rejection reason. The documented next step is to contact Microsoft for Startups Program Support through the Azure Portal.
Use this path for program support:
- Sign in to the Azure portal.
- Navigate to the Microsoft for Startups startup homepage.
- In the Overview tab, find Your Microsoft Team.
- Select Get program support.
If the issue is specifically an Azure technical or subscription/support-request problem in the portal, use:
- In the Azure Portal, select the ? icon in the top-right.
- Select Help + support.
- Select Create a support request.
- Attach relevant documents or screenshots of the error.
What to include in the support request:
- Screenshot of the verification message
- Business registration documents
- Domain ownership proof
- Any other documents that support the legal business name and company details used in the application
Which team to contact:
- Microsoft for Startups Program Support for program, benefits, and portal issues such as startup verification
- Azure Support for Azure product, billing, subscription, or production issues
If the startup experience is the older Microsoft for Startups Portal experience, support can also be submitted there:
- Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
- Select the ? icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Submit a Support Ticket.
Program experience depends on join date:
- If joined prior to May 29, 2026, the Microsoft for Startups Portal is the primary experience.
- If joined after May 29, 2026, the Azure Portal is the primary experience.
