I recently passed a Microsoft certification exam, and the exam status is showing as Passed in the certification portal. However, the certificate is not available for download or viewing. I am able to download the transcript, but the certificate is not generated or visible in the portal. Additionally, I continue to receive automated emails requesting that I upload the certificate, even though the certification has already been successfully completed. Please help me understand why the certificate is not appearing and how this issue can be resolved

A passed exam does not always produce a certificate by itself. A certificate appears only after the full certification requirements are met.

    Common causes:

    1. Only the exam was passed, not the certification Some credentials require more than one requirement. If the certification requires multiple exams, the certificate is not issued until the final requirement is completed. For example, moderator guidance for AZ-400 states that passing the exam alone is not enough; the related prerequisite certification must also be active.
    2. Results have not fully synced yet Exam results are usually available within minutes, but they can take up to 24 hours to appear in the Learn profile Certifications tab. Similar support guidance also notes that certificates may take 24–48 hours to appear.
    3. Signed in to the wrong Learn profile Missing credentials are commonly caused by using a different Microsoft account than the one used to register for the exam. If multiple Learn profiles exist, check each possible personal, work, or school account.
    4. The exam was delivered through Certiport Certiport-earned exams and certifications may not appear in the Microsoft Learn profile yet. In that case, they must be managed and shared through the Certiport account until integration is completed.

    What to do:

    1. In Microsoft Learn, open Profile and review Credentials and Transcript.
    2. Confirm on the certification details page that the passed exam fully satisfies the credential requirements.
    3. Wait up to 24 hours, and if needed 24–48 hours, for the certificate to appear.
    4. Sign out and test any other Microsoft accounts that may have been used during exam registration.
    5. If the certificate still does not appear after confirming the credential requirements and account, contact Microsoft Credentials Support.

About the automated emails requesting certificate upload: if the transcript already shows the completed credential but the certificate is not yet visible, the emails are likely coming from a separate process that has not recognized the certificate artifact yet. The transcript can still serve as proof of completion while the certificate visibility issue is being resolved.
