So I've been mulling over how to phrase this without completely muddling the issue but no searches have yielded anything close to what I've been experiencing.

Occasionally I will turn on my laptop, and upon trying to minimize the fullscreen windows, they only shrink minutely. In essence they are full screens; I can manually resize them down. However, I have never made my minimized windows that big.

I have deactivated the window resizing snap option and this issue still occurs.

This is concerning as I typically have whatever windows I'm working in sized to a quarter of my screens.

I've run Windows Defenders, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro malware scans: they've come back clean.Pictures will be attached.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots. I can see what you mean. Selecting Restore Down only makes the browser slightly smaller rather than returning it to the quarter-screen size you normally use. The display settings shown also look correct at 100% scaling and 1920 × 1080 (Recommended).

Just a quick note that Windows 10 has reached end of support, but you can still try the steps below to help narrow down what is causing this.

Could you let me know a little more about when it happens?

Does it affect every application or only the browser?
Does it happen after a full shutdown or also after restarting or waking the laptop from sleep?
Do you have any display, graphics, docking or window-management utilities installed?
Did it begin after an update, graphics-driver change or newly installed application?

Since the display and Snap settings have already been checked, I’d try a clean boot next. This can help identify whether something running in the background is changing the saved window sizes:

Search for msconfig and open System Configuration.
On the Services tab, select "Hide all Microsoft services", then select Disable all.
On the Startup tab, select Open Task Manager and disable the enabled startup items.
Restart the laptop and test the window behavior again.
