Trouble logging into Teams

When I try to log into Teams, it tales my user name and says "we are taking you to your organization's login page." I use a Samsung A12 and it seems like this is a universal problem. I have notified our IT department but they have not gotten back... Is there anything I can do or tell them to do to fix this?

    Hi @Jeffrey Berry

To help narrow down the issue, could you first check whether you can sign in to the same account through Teams on a computer or Teams on the web?

In the meantime, you can try the following:

-Make sure Teams is up to date.

-Restart your phone and try signing in again.

-Go to Settings > Apps > Teams > Storage and select Clear cache.

-If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Teams app.

Since your IT department is already looking into the issue, they can also check the Microsoft Entra sign-in logs for your account around the time of the failed sign-in. The sign-in details may provide more information about the cause of the failure. User's image They can also check whether any Conditional Access policies require an approved client app or an app protection policy for mobile access.

On a Samsung A12, a few self-service checks are supported before IT intervenes:

    1. In Teams, select the Sign in banner or button and complete all prompts, including MFA if shown.
    2. If the sign-in window does not appear, check the notification area/system tray for the Teams icon with a badge, open it, then try sign-in again.
    3. Quit and reopen Teams, then retry sign-in.
    4. Make sure the phone is on the network required by the organization before opening Teams. If the organization requires VPN, connect to VPN first.
    5. Avoid switching between networks while Teams is open.
    6. Update Teams to the latest version.

    What to tell IT:

    • This is often not a general Teams outage. If browser sign-in works but mobile app sign-in fails, the issue can be related to tenant policies that affect mobile apps differently, such as Conditional Access, approved client app requirements, app protection policy requirements, or device compliance requirements.
    • If multiple Microsoft 365 mobile apps are affected, IT should check whether the device is properly registered in Microsoft Entra ID and compliant in Intune, and review any recent changes to App Protection Policies, Conditional Access, or compliance policies.
    • If Company Portal was removed and reinstalled or device registration is stale, IT may need to remove the stale device entry in Microsoft Entra ID so the device can register again cleanly.
    • If Teams is showing a sign-in challenge repeatedly, IT should also verify whether the account requires a specific network, identity verification, or password reset.

If Teams shows a status code in the lower-left corner of the sign-in window, send that exact code to IT. Microsoft documents these examples:

    • 0xCAA90018: Windows credentials do not match Microsoft 365 credentials; retry with the correct work or school account, then contact IT if it continues.
    • 0xCAA70007 / 0xCAA82EE2 / 0xCAA82EE7: connection, timeout, or name resolution issue; check Internet access and have IT review firewall or network restrictions.
    • 0xCAA20004: organization approval or Microsoft Entra ID policy issue; IT needs to confirm configuration policies.

If the issue is affecting many users and basic app restart/update steps do not help, IT should investigate tenant policy and device registration rather than treating it as a phone-specific problem.
