how do I check to see if I'm receiving emails

For Outlook.com, check these in order:

1. Check mailbox storage first. If Microsoft cloud storage is full, Outlook.com cannot send or receive email, and messages sent during that time are bounced back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
2. Check the Junk Email folder. If a message is there by mistake, select it and mark it as Not junk.
3. Check the Other tab if Focused Inbox is enabled. Messages may be landing there instead of the main inbox.
4. Check the Archive folder in case messages were archived.
5. Check whether inbox sorting is hiding newer mail. Set Filter > Sort > Date.
6. Check whether email forwarding is enabled.
7. Check whether any email rules are moving or hiding messages.
8. If only certain senders are affected, ask them whether they received a bounce-back or delivery error.
9. If one device is not syncing but Outlook.com on the web works, removing the partnership between the mobile device and the mailbox can fix sync issues.
10. If the account was recently changed or flagged for unusual sign-in activity, update the password or unblock the account if needed.
