Dear Sirs;

I installed a newer version of`microsoft outlook program a few months ago. It has been working fine. I went on vacation and came back two weeks later and now my outlook starts and says "Access Denied". How do I get back into my outlook email?

    Hi!

    1. Is your email personal, corporate, or educational?
    2. Is your email from your custom domain (@yourname.com, @companyname.com), Microsoft (@outlook.com or @hotmail.com), Google (@gmail.com), or a third-party domain?
    • If your account is Microsoft, see if you can log in normally at https://outlook.live.com/mail/ to validate that your account is blocked.
    • If it is a personalized email, try logging into webmail to confirm that it is not blocked.

If everything goes well, it could be an Outlook sync error. Try to repair it:

    1. Open Windows Settings (Press WINDOWS + I) > Select "Apps" > "Installed Apps".
    2. Search for Outlook > Click on the 3 Dots ●●● > Advanced Options > Click on Finish and then on Repair > Run the test.
    • If it doesn't work, click Restore.

This usually happens because Microsoft detected a sign-in from a new location or device after travel and is asking for extra verification.

    Try this in order:

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com in a browser first.
Use the standard sign-in page and check whether the mailbox opens there.
    2. If sign-in is blocked or the account appears locked, use the Sign-in Helper.
If the account was temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, this is the supported way to unblock it.
    3. If prompted for verification, complete the security check.
Travel can trigger an extra verification step by email, SMS, or the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    4. If browser sign-in works, remove and add the account again in New Outlook.
In New Outlook, go to Settings > Accounts > Your accounts, remove the affected account, then add it again.
    5. If New Outlook keeps looping on sign-in, repair or reset the app.
Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options. Try Repair first. If that does not help, use Reset, then open New Outlook and add the account again.
    6. Before future travel, make sure the Microsoft account security info is current and set up Microsoft Authenticator.
Microsoft may ask for confirmation when signing in from a new place or device.

If the account still cannot be unblocked after the security code or password steps, use the Microsoft account sign-in recovery guidance.
