Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Thank you for all the advice. I tried to follow along but as I did, I begam to realize it isn't just the NEW EMAIL button but several buttons are all greyed out. All the suggestions you gave failed because those buttons like Reply or Reply all, Forward. When I click open New Items, most things are greyed out.
I have no add-ins. For some reason my Hotmail account at least lets me check for add-ons when I do not see. Your interface is very different from mine. There are 3 IMAP accounts that I use through Comcast. One through MS. The canned answer given by the MS techs does not work. Apparently they don't read whet I posted because as I said, I had already done all that I can. The Classic Outlook tells me it is not activated. But if I try to activate it, it tries to install Office 365. I DON"T WANT 365. I just want the stand alone Classic Outlook. I swear, MS keeps changing things with the excuse it improves the platform. I was a tech support at MS many years ago when Win95 was released. I was was Subject Matter Expert in Operating Systems and Networking. This was long before Active Directory. So things have changed... for the worse. Now they are forcing end users to spend more money or the system breaks.
I have completely uninstalled Classic Outlook and rebooted. Then I downloaded again the Classic Outlook from the MS site. Nothing is working. I am going to have to troubleshoot this further. I am not able to receive any emails with any of them but the MS account. The others will not work. I am going to have to look at other alternatives to my email but I WILL NOT ever buy 365. If they force me to, I will move to a MAC.
