A PC equipped with advanced AI capabilities and Windows Copilot integration
A few hours of "Can't process request" can be caused by either a temporary Copilot service outage or a local app issue.
Try this path:
- Check whether the issue is temporary service-side.
- Similar reported cases were resolved after a Copilot web outage ended.
- If the problem started suddenly and was working before, this can be the cause.
- Reset the Copilot app in Windows.
- Open Start and search for Copilot.
- Open App settings.
- Go to the Reset section and select Reset.
- Then test Copilot again.
- If it still fails, uninstall and reinstall Copilot.
- On Windows 11: Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for Copilot > select … > Uninstall.
- Reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- For Copilot-related plugin errors, signing out and back in is a documented troubleshooting step and can help clear session issues.
If the app comes back after these steps, the issue was likely local. If not, it is more likely a temporary service problem and recovery depends on Microsoft restoring the service.
