Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi Ansell,
This usually happens because the browser still has saved cookies or sign-in information from the previous organization account.
To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:
- Clear the browser cache and cookies
- Launch the browser, and press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the Clear browsing data utility.
- Now, select All time from the Time range dropdown menu, tick the checkboxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then click on Clear data towards the bottom.
- Use a private browsing window
- Open an Incognito window in your browser.
- Go to https://www.office.com and sign in with the current account.
- Create a separate browser profile
- Open your browser browser.
- Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Set up a new profile.
- Sign in using your current Microsoft 365 work account.
- In the new profile window, visit https://www.office.com and try signing in again.
- Remove the old account from Windows
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- If the previous organization account is still listed, select it and choose Disconnect. Please only remove the old account that is no longer in use.
- Clear cached credentials:
- Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials
- Under the section Generic Credentials, look for any entries that has Outlook, Office or having your email address in the name and remove them.
- Restart your computer.
I hope your issue gets resolved soon. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
