Dear @Croissant, Jennifer L - (jlc)

I understand that messages saved in the Drafts folder are not being sent, and that duplicate drafts are also being created.

As a first step, please check whether the issue also occurs in Outlook on the web. Sign in to your Microsoft 365 mailbox through Outlook on the web, open Drafts, and try creating and sending a new test message.

  • If the test message sends successfully from Outlook on the web, the issue is likely related to the Outlook desktop client, such as a synchronization, profile, or add-in issue.
  • If it also remains in Drafts in Outlook on the web, the issue is more likely related to the mailbox or account.

Regarding the duplicate drafts, please let me know whether they are created while you are actively composing the same message, or whether duplicates appear after closing/reopening Outlook or switching between devices. This distinction will help determine whether the problem is related to local Outlook synchronization.

If possible, please also confirm:

  1. Does the same issue occur in Outlook on the web?
  2. Are the duplicate drafts created on one device or across multiple devices?
  3. Do you receive any error message when trying to send?

Microsoft’s guidance for send/receive issues is available here: Microsoft Support – I can’t send or receive messages in Outlook

If you have any updates or additional details, please feel free to leave a comment under this post. I’ll be happy to assist further within my scope.
