Why was Drop, Collections, and Sidebar removed?

Microsoft claims it was for the simplification of the browser, and for a more concentrated effort on AI features like Copilot, its voice mode feature, and Visual Search. However, most of the userbase was not only actively using these features, but had them amongst their main reasons for use of this amazing browser. The retirement of Drop is puzzling to me, as the system and OneDrive still exist as standalone apps, and it was the simple UI and ease of convenience that made Drop a good feature. Now that Drop is retired, users must go through OneDrive or Phone Link to transfer files, which feels much less intuitive and natural. Ironically, for the sake of simplification in the browser, Microsoft has removed one of the core features, which users praised for its simplicity. On a similar line of thought, collections suffered a similar fate. It previously let you store links, images, text, and web snippets into mini "collections", and was one of the main advantages that came with using Edge. Now that it's completely gone, users will have to either use a third-party option or switch to another browser. Even though it didn't see as much use from the casual person, the implementation of features like these were heavily overshadowed by Copilot and AI features, which Microsoft continued to push, blind to users' critiques and dissatisfaction. Copilot is a great feature in Edge, but continuing to improve it is unnecessary, and removing perfectly good features to "simplify" the browser ignores the fact that those features weren't clutter in the first place. The Edge sidebar offered a new experience to browsing, and was substantially better than other forms of splitscreening. It offered multitasking in a way that seemed unobtrusive and could be easily disabled within settings. Additionally, it came with apps and features specifically designed for the side-pane view/layout, like drop, games, tools, designer, search, and shopping, which enhanced the user experience greatly. This, along with the ability to open third-party apps in the side panel was greatly missed by all Microsoft Edge advocates, and I myself have encountered many who have switched browsers since the removal of these great features. I am not necessarily asking for the addition of these features back into Edge natively. I am simply asking the motive and the reasoning beyond just "simplification". And, as a long-time Microsoft enthusiast, if possible, I would greatly appreciate your reconsideration of these changes.
