I am on a Macbook Pro running Tahoe 26.7. I woke up and my outlook client looks completely different and is offline. If i try to bring it back online, it asks me to either sign in with an office 365 subscription or start a free trial. I have uninstalled outlook and installed it back again. Nothing works. I have lost access to my mail through outlook.

Outlook won't switch "out" of legacy mode, it continues to be in legacy mode even after the toggle.

I have exactly the same problem on my Mac, has been fine up until today. Can find no way to change it back to online.
Had you switched it over to legacy mode? You need to use new Outlook with the free version - you would need a license for the legacy version.
