Hi,
What is the printer/scanner model?
Is the connection via network or USB?
Thanks.

What printer do you own? Give name and model such as Epson XP-7100. Are you scanning to your printer first and then saving to your PC?
For my Epson printer I select all of this before I start the scan using Epson Scan 2 that was provided on the disk that came with my printer. After making the selections and making the scan I can preview it before saving it to the location I chose on my computer.
Have you read the User Manual for your printer?
Are you able to provide an image of what you are being asked to do?

If the printer is rejecting a username or password for scan-to-PC, the issue is usually Windows network credentials or sharing settings rather than a typo.
Try these steps in order:
\\ComputerName in the address bar to test whether the PC can be reached over the network. If the sign-in being requested is a Windows Hello PIN, that PIN is local to that specific PC and is not the Microsoft account password.
