Every search query initiated in Outlook (Web Client and the New Outlook for Windows) immediately fails with the error message: "We can't complete your request right now."

Troubleshooting Already Performed: Different browsers, DNS, computers, Private Mode, Hotspot. Cellular App's search works...

    Hi @Itay Kariv

I’m sorry to hear that Outlook search is still not working, especially after you have already tested different browsers, computers, private browsing, DNS settings, and network connections.

Since the issue occurs in both Outlook.com and the new Outlook for Windows, while search still works in the mobile app, this appears more likely to be related to the mailbox’s online search service rather than a specific device or browser. Rebuilding the Windows Search index is therefore unlikely to help in this case.

Please contact Microsoft Support and ask them to investigate the search service for your Outlook.com mailbox. When contacting them, include the exact message, “We can’t complete your request right now,” and mention that the issue can be reproduced across multiple web clients, devices, and networks.

    • Go to Contact Microsoft Support.
    • Select Show expanded list of products.
    • Select Outlook > Get Home support.
    • Enter Outlook live chat, then select Get Help > Contact Support.
    • Sign in with the affected account. If that is not possible, use another Microsoft account to view the available support options.
    • Ask our Support Assistant > Type "Talk to live chat agent" > Contact Support
    • Under Products & Services, select Other Products > Outlook, then choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
