Hi,
Based on your description, it sounds like the database is currently opening in Design View instead of the normal user-facing form. To switch back to the user view, please try the following:
- If the form is currently open in Design View, press F5 to switch to Form View.
- Alternatively, right-click the form in the Navigation Pane and select Form View. Access uses Form View to display and work with records, while Design View is intended for modifying the form's structure.
If the database starts in Design View every time you open it, you may need to restore the startup form:
- Open the database and go to File > Options.
- Select Current Database.
- Under Application Options, locate Display Form and choose the form that users should see when the database opens.
- Select OK, then close and reopen the database for the change to take effect.
As an additional check, if you opened the database while holding the Shift key, Access may have bypassed its normal startup settings. In that case, close the database and reopen it normally without holding Shift.
For reference:
I hope this helps restore the database to its normal user view. If the issue persists, please let me know whether all forms are opening in Design View or only a specific form, and I’ll be happy to assist further.
Kind regards.
