Normal form view missing for Access database version 2608

I have an access database that was written for us with a personallised ribbon. I normally open the database and have a personalised form view that allows me to search, update and create records. I have opened it up as normal and all I can see is the tables with data. It does not appear to have the option to simply toggle between views.

How do I get the normal view back? It is version 2608 of Access

    What you describe could be the back end of a split database, rather than the front end, where the forms, reports, queries, and VBA are.

    So, before we go off looking for other problems to solve, let's start there.

    This database was created for you and the proper architecture is for it to be split as I suggested. You may not even have been aware of that if the developer didn't explain it when they delivered it.
    Look in the folder. Do you see two accdb, or accde files with the same root name? One of them might have a suffix identifying it as the "Back End" or "BE". If so, open the Front End and see if that resolves the problem.
