Microsoft for Startups $200 Azure credits show “Already redeemed” but no Azure subscription exists

Hello Microsoft for Startups Support Team,

I am using the new Microsoft for Startups Preview experience in Azure Portal. My startup homepage shows that I can unlock $200 in Azure credits.

When I click “Sign up” to activate the benefit, I receive the message:

“The credits have already been redeemed.”

However, Azure Portal → Subscriptions shows no active Azure subscriptions.

I previously had an Azure free trial subscription which expired and was deleted on July 19, 2025. I suspect the previous Azure trial may be causing the new Microsoft for Startups credit entitlement to be incorrectly marked as already redeemed.

According to the Microsoft for Startups documentation, I should contact Program Support through Your Microsoft Team → Get program support. However, the Your Microsoft Team section is not displayed anywhere on my Microsoft for Startups homepage, so I cannot create a Program Support ticket.

Could a Microsoft moderator please escalate this case to the Microsoft for Startups Program Support team and help verify or reset my Azure credit entitlement so I can activate the $200 benefit?

Thank you.

    Hi,

I checked Cost Management + Billing as suggested. My previous Azure subscription (“Azure subscription 1”) is still visible in the billing account, but its status is Deleted and the current charges are 0.00. I do not have an active Azure subscription.

The Microsoft for Startups portal still offers the $200 Azure credit benefit, but when I try to redeem it, I receive “Already redeemed.”

I also still do not have the Your Microsoft Team > Get program support option in the Microsoft for Startups portal, so I cannot contact Program Support through the documented route.

Could you please escalate this to Microsoft for Startups Program Support so they can review/reset the Azure credit entitlement associated with my account?

I have a screenshot showing the deleted Azure subscription and can provide the “Already redeemed” screenshot as well if needed.

    Thank you.

    Hi Robert,

The Already redeemed message does not necessarily mean an active Azure subscription still exists. Microsoft says it can appear when the Microsoft account has previously redeemed Azure credits through another program. If those credits are no longer active, Program Support can review the entitlement and help with activation.

Since your previous Azure trial was deleted, I would check Cost Management + Billing > Payment methods first to make sure there isn't an existing sponsorship/credit entitlement still attached to the account. Microsoft notes that credits can also take some time to appear after activation.

If it still says Already redeemed, this is an account/benefit entitlement issue, not something you can normally fix by creating another subscription.

The current Microsoft guidance is to contact Microsoft for Startups Program Support through the Azure Portal. Their documentation specifically lists credit activation, entitlement corrections, and benefit redemption issues as cases they handle.

Since you don't see Your Microsoft Team > Get program support, mention that explicitly in the request and provide the old subscription details, approximate deletion date, and a screenshot of the Already redeemed message.
