Hi geraldine sikora,
I can understand how frustrating this must be, especially since Outlook was working before the update and reinstalling it four times has made no difference. The fact that your mailbox still works on the web is helpful, as it suggests that your email account and messages are still accessible.
To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:
- What macOS version is installed on your Mac?
- When you open Outlook, does the icon bounce and then disappear, does the app remain on a blank screen, or do you receive an error message?
- Did you reinstall Outlook from the Mac App Store or directly from Microsoft?
- If possible, what Outlook version/build is installed?
In the meantime, please try these steps:
- Restart the Mac completely, then try opening Outlook again.
- Open System Settings > General > Software Update and install any available macOS updates.
- If Word or Excel can still open, select Help > Check for Updates, install all available Microsoft 365 updates, and restart the Mac afterward.
- Check Microsoft’s recent issues page for Outlook for Mac to see whether the installed update matches a currently reported problem.
- For now, you can continue accessing your mailbox through Outlook on the web so you do not lose access to your email.
Please avoid deleting any Outlook profile or local data folders at this stage, particularly if you have locally stored mail. Once you share what happens when Outlook is launched and the macOS and Outlook versions, we can work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
