How to stop lock screen slideshow showing collages

Lockscreen slideshow shows collages rather than single images. How do I stop that? Selecting only those pictures that fit my screen does not change that behaviour.

What you are seeing is the default Windows 10/11 lock screen slideshow behavior, where the system automatically creates collages when multiple images are available in the folder. This is not controlled by image resolution alone. To stop collages and force single images, you need to disable the “Use pictures from multiple folders” and “Let Windows show fun facts, tips, tricks” options under Settings → Personalization → Lock screen. Then ensure only one folder is selected for the slideshow and that it contains only the images you want. If collages still appear, the registry key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Lock Screen\SlideshowOptions can be set to 0 to disable collage mode entirely. After applying this change, restart the machine or sign out/in to refresh the lock screen rendering. This forces Windows to display one image at a time rather than composites.
