Manually Enter Specific Weightage Percent on Summary MS Project

I understand that you would like to assign specific weightages to each project phase. Unfortunately, Microsoft Project does not allow you to manually enter a weighted percentage directly on a Summary Task and have the built-in % Complete field use those values. Summary task progress is calculated automatically based on the progress of its underlying subtasks.

As a workaround, If you are using the Microsoft Project desktop application, you can create a custom Number field (for example, Number1) to store the weightage for each summary section. You can then use another custom field with a formula to calculate the weighted contribution of each section based on its actual % Complete. The weighted values can then be summed to determine the overall project progress. For reference: Create a custom field in Project

Note: If you are using Project for the Web, custom formula fields are not currently supported, so weighted progress calculations cannot be configured within the application.

Otherwise, if your organization tracks progress based on weighted milestones rather than durations or work, consider using Physical % Complete on tasks and then creating custom formulas to calculate weighted project completion. For reference: Physical Percent (%) Complete (task field)
