    Hi Viola, Dion (D.)

Based on the error description, it sounds like the user is being prompted to verify a phone number during sign-in, but the number shown does not match the phone number they currently have access to.

For Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, the issue may be related to the user's registered Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) methods. If the phone number associated with the account is outdated or incorrect, a Microsoft 365 or Entra administrator may need to review or reset the user's authentication methods.

If you are the Microsoft 365 administrator for your organization, please check whether the user's registered authentication methods are up to date. In many cases, this issue occurs when an old phone number remains registered for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). You also may review or reset the user's authentication methods in the Microsoft Entra admin center. If the user no longer has access to the registered phone number or other verification methods, an administrator can reset the MFA registration and have the user re-register their authentication methods during their next sign-in.

To reset the MFA settings, you can see this article: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

For personal Microsoft accounts, the user may need to use the account recovery process if they no longer have access to the verification phone numberhttps://account.live.com/acsr

The Request ID, Correlation ID, and Timestamp you provided can be useful for further investigation if an escalation to Microsoft Support becomes necessary.

I hope this information helpful and if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask via comment section.
