Since DNS and network command resets were already tried, the next supported steps are:
- Run the built-in Network troubleshooter:
- Go to Start > Settings > Network and Internet > Status.
- Select Network troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen steps and check whether apps start detecting the connection.
- Test the same network on another device:
- If another Windows PC can connect normally on the same Ethernet network, the issue is likely on the original PC.
- If the second device also fails, the problem is more likely the router, ISP, or Ethernet adapter.
- If the PC has Wi-Fi available, connect to Wi-Fi temporarily:
- This helps confirm whether the issue is limited to Ethernet.
- If Wi-Fi works and Ethernet does not, focus on the Ethernet adapter or its driver.
- Reinstall the Ethernet adapter driver.
- Risk: this temporarily removes network connectivity until Windows reinstalls the driver or a backup driver is installed.
- Before uninstalling, download the latest network adapter driver from the PC manufacturer on another device if needed.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- Right-click the Ethernet adapter > Uninstall device.
- If shown, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device > Uninstall.
- Restart the PC.
- After restart, Windows should reinstall the adapter driver automatically.
- Use Network reset as the last step.
- Risk: this removes and reinstalls network adapters and resets their settings to defaults. VPN clients, Hyper-V virtual switches, and similar networking software might need to be reinstalled or reconfigured afterward.
- In Windows 11: Start > Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset > Reset now.
- In Windows 10: Start > Settings > Network & internet > Status > Network reset > Reset now.
- Restart and test the apps again.
If the apps lose connectivity only under a local proxy tool, one documented cause is a system proxy intercepting traffic; some apps reject that traffic because of certificate pinning.
