They are asking me to mail this to them, I've emailed it to them 3 times, and they sent me this:

You’ve added a tax identification number to your Microsoft Online Services billing account. To receive a tax exemption, you must send a tax exemption certificate for **tax identification number [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]**. To ensure that the purchases you recently made can be treated as tax exempt, your certificate must be postmarked by Saturday, September 26, 2026.

To send your tax exemption certificate:

  1. Go to the tax exemption form in Microsoft Online Services.
  2. Print the cover sheet form.
  3. Following the instructions provided on the cover sheet form, complete the cover sheet and send it to Microsoft Online Services.

There is no link to the form, or the cover sheet, or a mailing address

How am I supposed to proceed?

    Dear @Halcomb, Charles Robert,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

As a starting point, I'd recommend reviewing the Microsoft Q&A discussion "How do I submit a tax exempt certificate?", where a Microsoft moderator provided guidance on the tax exemption submission process. The information there may help clarify where to obtain the required forms and how to proceed with submission.

Please note that this is a community forum where users help one another. I do not have access to billing accounts or the ability to process tax exemption requests.

Based on Microsoft's guidance Process to Request Tax Exemption for Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) Account, you could try the following:

    • Ensure you have a valid tax exemption certificate in digital format (PDF or similar)
    • Sign in to the Azure Portal using an account with Billing Account Owner access
    • Navigate to Help + Support and select Create a support request and choose:
      • Issue type: Billing
      • Problem type: Add or Update VAT, Tax ID, PO Number, or Profile Information
    • Attach your tax exemption certificate and include relevant details such as:
      • Billing Account ID
      • Contact information
      • The tax identification number referenced in the notification
    • Submit the request for review by the Microsoft Billing team

Kindly let me know when there are updates or if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your time and patience.
