I’m looking for some help diagnosing a recurring issue with my PC. Below are the specifications and a summary of the problem and troubleshooting I’ve carried out so far. PC specifications: - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - GPU: ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 XT OC - Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi - RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 - Storage: WD Black SN7100 1TB NVMe - PSU: ROG Strix 1000W Platinum - CPU cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360 RS AIO - Case: Corsair AIR5400 - Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G7 - Operating system: Windows 11 Description of the problem: - The PC occasionally completely locks up while gaming. - The most common symptom is the screen going completely white, sometimes accompanied by audio stuttering/freezing. - The PC becomes completely unresponsive and requires holding the power button to shut it down. - There is no BSOD or normal Windows crash screen. - It has happened across multiple games, including War Dogs, Hunt: Showdown and Overwatch 2. - Some games, such as Farming Simulator, have not reproduced the problem. - The crashes generally happen after the PC has been running/gameplay has been going for some time rather than immediately. - I have noticed a possible correlation with audio/microphone use. On some occasions the crash has occurred while using my HyperX USB headset/microphone. - There may also be a possible connection with Discord, particularly using voice chat or the Discord overlay, although I have also had crashes without Discord running. Troubleshooting already carried out: - Performed a clean reinstall of Windows 11. - Reinstalled the AMD chipset drivers. - Clean-installed the AMD Adrenalin GPU drivers. - Used DDU to remove/reinstall display drivers. - Updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version. - Tested with EXPO disabled. - Previously tested with EXPO enabled, but have since disabled it to eliminate RAM overclocking as a possible cause. - Reseated the GPU. - Disconnected and reconnected the GPU PCIe power cables. - Checked/reseated relevant hardware connections. - Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic. - Ran OCCT stress tests. - Ran GPU stress testing through AMD Adrenalin. - Temperatures appear normal under stress testing. - The PC has passed the stress tests without reproducing the crash. - I have also verified the integrity of affected games through Steam. Windows/Event Viewer findings: - After the forced shutdown, I generally see Kernel-Power Event ID 41, which appears to be a result of the system being forcibly powered off rather than the original cause. - I have not found a clear error immediately preceding the crashes. - Reliability Monitor has not provided a useful crash entry. - I have also seen some HAL/IOMMU-related informational events, but nothing that has clearly identified the cause. At this point I’m trying to determine whether this is more likely to be a hardware issue (motherboard, GPU, RAM, USB/audio subsystem, etc.) or a software/driver issue, particularly involving USB audio, Discord, overlays or GPU drivers. The fact that the system can pass stress testing without crashing but can hard-lock during normal gaming has made it particularly difficult to isolate. Any advice on what you would investigate next would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

These behaviors can occur for several reasons. It is necessary to investigate.

Please see if your computer created minidump files.

    These files are in C:\Windows\Minidump.

(If you don't have a Minidump folder, check if it is in the plural Minidumps.)

Copy any files you have to your desktop and store them in a ZIP file. Then, upload the ZIP file to the cloud (OneDrive), choose to share it, and get the link.

Then, post the link to the ZIP file here so I can have a look.

    Looking forward to your reply.
