AB-620 exam scheduled for Oct 2, is it based on old or new Copilot Studio interface?

I have the AB-620 exam scheduled for October 2nd (my deadline to complete it is October 16th). I noticed the AB-620T00 course page shows the updated course content won't be available until September 30th, and in the meantime the official AB-620 study guide (last updated April 21, 2026) still references the classic Topics-based model — e.g. "Configure topics," "Add agent flows to a topic," etc.

Since Copilot Studio was fully rebuilt and GA'd on July 7, 2026, I'm trying to understand:

  1. Is the current AB-620 exam still testing the classic Topics-based interface, or has the question bank been updated to reflect the new Skills/orchestrator model?
  2. Does the September 30th course refresh mean the exam will also be updated, or are the course and exam on separate update schedules? Should I expect the exam to still assess the old interface/concepts as described in the current study guide?

    I would expect the exam to be based on the standard harness, not the GitHub Copilot harness as the study guide has not changed.

    It generally takes time (often several months) for product changes, especially one so large so make their way through to the exam.

    In addition, the standard harness is not going away; there are many different use cases for both options

    The course update will include both harnesses. Course and exam are being updated separately for now; it is often quicker to update course content than it is to make changes to exams.
