Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
If this was added as a full email account in new Outlook for Windows:
- Open View > View settings.
- Go to Accounts > Your accounts.
- Under Email accounts, find that other user’s account.
- Select Manage next to it.
- Under Account details, select Remove.
Important:
- This removes the account from Outlook only. It does not delete the actual mailbox or email account.
- Any offline cached content for that account is deleted when the account is removed.
- If it is a non-Microsoft account, Outlook may offer Remove from only this device or Remove from all devices. Remove from all devices can permanently remove Microsoft Cloud data for that account across Outlook clients.
If what was added was another person’s mailbox under an Exchange account rather than a separate full account, remove it this way:
- In Outlook, select File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
- On the Email tab, select the Exchange account, then select Change > More Settings.
- Open the Advanced tab.
- Under Open these additional mailboxes, select the other person’s mailbox.
- Select Remove.
