Unexpected separate billing for Anthropic Claude models (Azure Marketplace) on an Azure Sponsorship subscription — not deducted from sponsorship credits

I have an Azure Sponsorship subscription and recently discovered that Azure Marketplace SaaS usage of Anthropic Claude models (Claude Fable 5 and Claude Opus 5) is being billed separately to my card, rather than being deducted from my sponsorship credit balance like the other models I use on this subscription.

• August 2026 — declined by my bank, now past due

I didn't realize Marketplace SaaS charges for these models work differently from sponsorship-credit-covered usage. Has anyone else run into this?

Specifically:

1. Is there a way to get Marketplace charges like this applied against Azure Sponsorship credits instead of billed directly to a card?
2. Has anyone successfully gotten a one-time waiver or credit for Marketplace charges they didn't realize were being billed separately?
3. Does a subscription get disabled/suspended while a billing dispute like this is under review, or is there a way to prevent that while it's being sorted out?

Any guidance on the right support channel for this, or how others have resolved similar Marketplace vs. sponsorship-credit confusion, would be appreciated.
