I cannot use File History as it does not recognize it. and audio does not play on Reels in Facebook. Where do I uninstall uninstall 2026-09 Security Update (KB5124008) (26200.9445)? Please help.

    The File History bug and Audio bug is widely reported in the September KB5124008 update, Microsoft have indicated they released an out-band update (KB5129195) to resolve the audio problems and they are working to resolve the File History problems.

    If you want to uninstall the September update, open the Settings App, go to Windows Update - Update History, then scroll to the bottom of that window and click Uninstall Updates, from there you can uninstall the September update.

    Or you can install the out-of-band update to test if that resolves the audio problems, then wait for them to release a patch for the File History bug.

    This issue has already been reported by several other users. You will likely need to uninstall the update to fix the issue that it causes. The KB5124008 update fixes a large number of vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero‑days. Uninstalling it significantly reduces your security posture, so you should only uninstall it if File History (or other critical features) still don’t work and you need them.     It does not let me uninstall this update. Says that some updates are not permitted to be uninstalled.

    If you are unable to uninstall the update, then you just need to wait for Microsoft to release a patch that will fix the File History bug in that update.
