Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Based on my research, although Windows 10 reached end of support on October 14, 2025, Microsoft 365 Apps installed on Windows 10 do not immediately stop working. Microsoft will continue providing security updates for Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows 10 through October 10, 2028, to help organizations transition to Windows 11.
Regarding technical support, customers with a valid Microsoft 365 subscription can still open support cases. However, if an issue occurs only when Microsoft 365 Apps is running on Windows 10 and cannot be reproduced on Windows 11, Microsoft may ask the customer to move to Windows 11 first. If the customer cannot move to Windows 11, Microsoft will still provide troubleshooting assistance, but technical workarounds may be limited or unavailable. In addition, support incidents involving Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows 10 do not include the option to log a product bug or request product updates.
For issues involving both Office and the underlying operating system, the available troubleshooting options may vary depending on the specific circumstances of the issue.
As for future functionality, Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows 10 will continue receiving feature updates until Version 2608 is released. After that, devices will remain on Version 2608 and receive security updates only through October 10, 2028.
