Severe and disruptive issues with Copilot image generation

The following is based on a summary written by Microsoft Copilot, using factual events from my conversation with the assistant. I expect Microsoft’s internal logs to confirm these events.

I am experiencing severe and disruptive issues with Copilot image generation. The system provides contradictory status messages, fails to reset my image quota correctly, counts failed attempts as used quota, and keeps the image generation engine locked even when the status system claims it is open. I waited more than 37 hours since my last generation attempt, yet the quota was not fully reset. The system also claimed that images were generated even when no output was returned.

This makes Copilot unpredictable and nearly unusable as a creative tool. The inconsistent behavior strongly suggests a serious bug in the quota logic and in the synchronization between the status system and the actual image generation engine.

Summary of issues (prepared by Copilot):

1. Contradictory status messages – The system repeatedly said “You are not blocked” and “You can generate again.” – Immediately afterward, the image engine responded with “You have reached the limit.” – The system claimed an image was generated even though no output appeared. – The status system reported “open” while the image engine was actually locked.

2. Failed attempts count as used quota – Attempts made while the engine is locked still reduce the quota. – Even when the engine returns nothing, errors, or rejections. – This causes quota loss without receiving any images.

3. Quota does not reset correctly – I waited more than 37 hours since my last attempt. – The quota should have fully reset. – Instead, only a few attempts were available, and they were consumed instantly — including failed attempts. – The quota appears partially reset, which should not be possible.

4. False “open” messages – The status system says “open,” but the engine rejects all attempts. – This leads to wasted quota and user frustration.

5. No stable reset logic – The system does not reset at Danish midnight. – It does not reset at UTC midnight. – It does not reset after 24 hours. – The reset timing is unpredictable and inconsistent.
