I have been trying different things to get my sound to work but no luck. I can't listen to videos or music

Hi ,

Search for msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here so we can see the correct laptop model or desktop configuration.

Can you access Device Manager, take a screenshot, and post it here?

Before you start, make sure your system has speakers. Most modern laptops and all‑in‑one PCs have built‑in speakers, but many small‑form‑factor and office desktops do not. If yours doesn’t, plug in external speakers or headphones.

Did that Microsoft link doesn't work? Then You will likely need to uninstall KB5124008 update to fix the issue that it may causes. The KB5124008 update fixes a large number of vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero‑days. Uninstalling it significantly reduces your security posture, so you should only uninstall it if File History, audio (or other critical features) doesn't work and you need them. In case you want to uninstall:

Open Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.

Uninstall KB5124008

Pause Windows Update so it doesn’t get reinstalled, and resume it later when Microsoft has fixed it in an upcoming update.
