Go straight to Shared

Dear Michael,

I understand your concern. Microsoft Teams is designed around conversations, so when you open a channel, it defaults to the Posts tab (or Conversation tab, depending on your channel's layout).

At present, this behavior is by design in Microsoft Teams. The Shared tab cannot be moved, rearranged, or set as the default landing page when opening a chat or channel. Teams is designed to open the conversation area first, and there is currently no setting available to change this behavior.

Moreover, I also agree that being able to choose the Shared tab as the default view would be very useful for organizations that primarily use Teams for file collaboration rather than conversations. Therefore, I would encourage you to submit this suggestion directly to Microsoft.

To ensure your feedback reaches the right teams, I highly recommend submitting your feedback directly to Microsoft Ideas · Community, where the Microsoft product development team can know your requirements and ideas for product improvements. If enough users raise tickets for the same idea, Microsoft may consider adding this feature in the future. 

Note: As a forum user, I do not have the ability to change this behavior. I am also not involved in product design decisions and do not have direct access to Microsoft's development roadmap. My answers are based only on currently available product behavior and documentation.

As a workaround, if you want to directly access the files in the Teams channel, I recommend you try adding the shortcut in the web-browser with the links directly to the SharePoint folder:

• Go to the Shared tab > click ... (more commands) > Open in SharePoint > Choose Copy Link
• Then open it in a new browser > You can mark it as a favorite in the web browser; then it will also be visible and clickable right after.
