Hello,

I had a desktop computer that originally started with a paid version of Windows 7. I updated over the years to Windows 9 or 10 (not sure). My house was hit by lightning last week and that computer was destroyed. I've built a new desktop and installed Windows 11. Can this be activated without charging me? I still have the Product Key from the original Windows 7.

Thanks,

Doug

    Hello,

Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't allow a retail Windows 7 or 8 license to be used for Windows 11. you can still keep your digital entitlement for Windows 10 and transfer that from old to new computer, but not for Windows 11. Sorry.
