To check whether this was a true duplicate charge and request a refund:
- Sign in to your Microsoft account and review your order history for multiple purchases of the same amount that appear close together: Review your order history.
- If the duplicate charge does not appear in that order history, go to Payment options and select Investigate to look for other Microsoft accounts using the same card: Go to payment options.
- Common reasons charges can look duplicated include:
- a previously declined payment being charged again
- a subscription with recurring billing enabled
- multiple accounts using the same payment method
- separate charges for items in the same order
- If this was a Microsoft subscription, refund eligibility depends on country and subscription length. Prorated refunds may be available in some countries.
- If the charge is confirmed as a duplicate or still cannot be explained, contact Microsoft Support: Contact Microsoft Support.
If the charge is unfamiliar and there is any chance the payment method was compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent more charges.
