    Hi David,

In my testing across New Outlook and Outlook on the web, I was able to see the banner message “You replied on (date & time)” when opening the original email from the Inbox.

Please note that this banner only appears when viewing the original message in the Inbox. If the message is opened from Sent Items, this banner will not be displayed.

To help narrow down the cause, you may try the following checks:

1/ Verify behavior in Outlook on the web

If you are using New Outlook for desktop, I recommend checking whether the behavior is the same in Outlook on the web. This can help determine whether the issue is related to the app or the mailbox experience.

    • Open a web browser, then go to the browser settings and clear browsing data. Set the time range to "All time" to avoid issues caused by outdated cache. (If you are using Edge, go to edge://settings/clearBrowserData > All time > Clear now)- Then go to Outlook on the web  and sign in your work account.
    • Open the original message from Inbox and check if the reply banner appears.

    2/ Repair Outlook app

For guidance on repairing the Outlook app, you may refer to this article: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

    3/ Reinstall Office apps

To uninstall Office apps, follow the guidance in Uninstall Microsoft 365 or Office from a PC

    To reinstall:

Go to office.com > More apps > Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps > Apps & devices > Install Office.
