Hi all,

Been bashing my head around this one device for the past seven days. We currently have a BYOD program for Windows 11 laptops. The way we do this is we sign them in through Company Portal, device shows up in Intune and then we assign a separate Compliance policy with Entra membership etc.

Anyhow, this one device won't go compliant due to the error message from the title. These are the settings from the System Security sections:

Require a password to unlock mobile devices - Required

Simple passwords - Block

Required password type - At least alphanumeric

Require digits, lowercase and uppercase letters Number of non-alphanumeric characters in password - 3 Minimum password length - 7

Now, the user is on a personal/commercial/desktop Microsoft account.

The PIN currently has more than enough of all required characters

Their email password also has more than enough of all required characters

The device just won't go Compliant on check access in Company Portal. It keeps coming up with the password complexity error.

Are there any special characters that aren't counted by Intune? Is there anything special about personal microsoft accounts on Windows 11 in regards to MDM?

I know for sure this works quite alright on at least one other machine I've done recently.

Appreciate your inputs.
