Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
For Outlook.com sign-in loops or repeated sign-outs, use this path:
- Try signing in in a private browser window.
- If sign-in works there, the problem is likely cached browser sign-in data.
- In the normal browser, clear cookies for Microsoft, Live, and Outlook, then close all browser windows and try again.
- If Outlook signs out immediately or keeps looping, sign out of all active Microsoft sessions, then wait a few minutes and try again.
- If using a shared or public device, use private browsing and sign out when finished.
- If sign-in still fails, run the Microsoft sign-in troubleshooter or sign-in helper.
- Outlook.com: Open troubleshooter
- Microsoft account: Sign-in helper
- If the account is temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, use the unblock flow.
- If Microsoft is asking for extra verification because of a new device or location, complete the verification prompt.
If an unexpected “Are you trying to sign in?” prompt appears, select Deny for any request that was not initiated.
