When I signed into teams and tried to access the shared document, it told me I needed access. My director granted me access but now it's stuck on that screen and I can view what she shared.

    Dear Keri,

This usually happens because Teams is still holding the old permission from before access was granted, so the screen stays stuck even though the access is now in place. Signing out and back in normally clears it.

    • Fully quit Teams, sign out, then sign back in and open the file again.
    • If it is still stuck, ask your director to resend the sharing link.
    • Open that link in a browser rather than inside Teams, using an InPrivate or Incognito window.
    • Sign in with the exact work or school account the access was granted to.

Files shared through Teams live in SharePoint or OneDrive, so if it still fails, ask your director to open the file there, select Manage access, remove your existing entry, and share it to your account again.

If nothing works in either Teams or the browser, contact your IT administrator and ask them to verify your SharePoint permissions. If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

I hope this helps. Looking forward to your reply.
