A video editing tool developed by Microsoft, designed to make video creation easy and accessible for everyone.
Hi, Andrea Fryett
The downloaded .clipchamp file is a project package, not a normal video, so opening it from the hard drive can produce an unsupported-file message. Since Load in app does nothing, the Windows app registration may be damaged rather than the project itself.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Clipchamp > Advanced options, then select Repair. Restart Windows and test the project again.
If Repair does not help, open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates and install any Clipchamp update.
If Clipchamp is already current, uninstall and reinstall it from Microsoft Store. Keep the original media files and do not delete any Clipchamp or OneDrive project folders.
If the .clipchamp project is stored in OneDrive, open OneDrive online, right-click the project file, select Version history, and restore a version from before the problem started. Clipchamp projects stored in Microsoft 365 can be managed like other OneDrive or SharePoint files, including through version history.
If several projects fail the same way after reinstalling, contact Clipchamp Support from the Help option inside Clipchamp so the project record can be investigated.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
