How to disable age verification for Sandbox accounts?

We are a UK-based development team and we have started to receive content restriction popups on our Sandbox accounts when accessing multiplayer content in Microsoft Store and Xbox Series X|S applications due to the age verification rollout.

Is there a way to bypass this or do we need to create Sandbox accounts of a different locale?

There is no documented way to disable or bypass age verification for Xbox sandbox accounts.

    What is supported instead:

    1. Use Xbox test accounts for development and sandbox testing.
      • Test accounts are the recommended option for working with sandboxes.
      • They can only sign in to development sandboxes, not RETAIL.
      • They can be granted access to specific sandboxes.
      • They can include child accounts if those scenarios need testing.
    2. Create the test accounts in Partner Center and choose the appropriate region/locale during creation.
      • In Apps and games > Xbox test accounts > Create a new account(s), set Account/region locale for the batch.
      • Also configure Sandbox access and Access expiry as needed.
    3. Expect child-account restrictions if child accounts are included.
      • Child test accounts can be blocked from certain activities because of age-based defaults or family organizer settings.
      • Children cannot change those settings themselves.
    4. For UK-based accounts specifically, age verification is part of the current age assurance rollout.
      • Microsoft account age assurance is used to gate access to age-restricted content and features.
      • If age is not verified, the account is treated as unverified and access to some content or features can be restricted.

Based on the available documentation, the practical path is to create sandbox test accounts with the locale needed for the scenarios being tested, rather than trying to disable age verification.
