Windows 11 26H2 Insider Preview is showing a Windows 11 version 25H2 update, but the update fails with an error

Hello,

I am currently running Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview.

My current Windows version is:

Windows 11 Pro

Version: 26H2

OS Build: 26340.9032

However, Windows Update is repeatedly offering:

Windows 11, version 25H2

The update starts downloading, but eventually fails with an error.

I am confused because my system is already showing Version 26H2.

I also checked:

Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program

but it shows "Join the Windows Insider Program" and asks me to "Get started", even though my system is currently running an Insider Preview build.

Could someone please explain:

1. Why is Windows Update offering version 25H2 while I am already on 26H2?
2. Is this update safe/appropriate for my current build 26340.9032?
3. Why does the Windows Insider Program page show "Join" instead of my current Insider settings?
4. What is the recommended way to resolve the update error without losing my current installation or files?
