I previously signed into a Microsoft account using my Gmail address. Now Microsoft says the account doesn't exist when I try to sign in or recover it, but when I try to create a new Microsoft account with the same Gmail address, Microsoft says the email is already associated with a Microsoft account.

    May I please know when was the last time you were able to sign in with your Microsoft account successfully?

    Note that, if you haven't signed in with your Microsoft account for more than 2 years, your account will be put into an inactive state and will be closed. You cannot use the account recovery form to recover your account.

    For security reasons, Microsoft no longer recycles email addresses. If your account has been deleted, the email address will no longer be available to other users, so neither you nor anyone else can recreate an account using the same address.
