Teams assignment has vanished

My students have been working on a Teams Assignment and the entire assignment has vanished.

I cannot find it in any of the other assignment related tabs (past due, returned etc.), and it also shows no sign of existing in SharePoint.

Additionally, on a separate assignment on Teams, a student's work has all deleted itself and it does not show in version history as ever having been edited.

Any help massively appreciated!

    To ensure I fully understand your situation and provide the most effective assistance, I’ll need a few additional details, such as:  

    Was the student's work ever submitted, or were they still working on the assignment when the content disappeared?

    Is the missing assignment no longer visible to all teachers and students, or only to specific users?

    Could you check whether there are any copies of the file in the student's OneDrive Recycle Bin or in the Team's SharePoint Recycle Bin? Files removed from Teams/SharePoint may still be recoverable from the recycle bin. You can refer via: Restore items in the recycle bin that were deleted from SharePoint or Teams
    Any update would be appreciated.
