windows does not show apple device manager running and will not restart

plugging apple iphone in there is a beep on the iphone as expected but the trust pop up does not show on the iphone. windows does not show apple device manager running and will not restart. reinstalled and it doesn't work.

    Hello, I’m Virginia.

    Are you using the Apple Devices app or iTunes? If iTunes then is it the version from the MS App Store or from Apple?

    You may need to reinstall the program in order to have Apple device manager working.

    Are you using a genuine Apple cable/Apple certified cable or third party cable? Only Apple/Apple certified cables have the sync capability.

    Does the iPhone show under device manager & Bluetooth devices?

    Connect the iDevice with a USB cable to the PC.

    Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Update Driver Software.  

    • Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
    • Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
    • Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
    • Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
