    Hello, I’m Virginia.

Are you using the Apple Devices app or iTunes? If iTunes then is it the version from the MS App Store or from Apple?

You may need to reinstall the program in order to have Apple device manager working.

Are you using a genuine Apple cable/Apple certified cable or third party cable? Only Apple/Apple certified cables have the sync capability.

Does the iPhone show under device manager & Bluetooth devices?

Connect the iDevice with a USB cable to the PC.

Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Update Driver Software.

    • Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
    • Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
    • Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
    • Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    • Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
    • Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

This may or may not be applicable.

    Try this in order:

    1. Reinstall the iPhone device entry in Device Manager.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Look for the iPhone under Portable Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers.
      • Right-click Apple iPhone and select Uninstall device.
      • If prompted, select Delete the driver software for this device.
      • Unplug the iPhone.
      • Restart the PC.
      • Open Apple Music or iTunes.
      • Reconnect the iPhone and check whether the Trust This Computer prompt appears.
    2. Verify the required Windows services are running.
      • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
      • Find these services:
        • Apple Mobile Device Service
        • Portable Device Enumerator Service
      • Open Properties for each one.
      • Set Startup type to Automatic.
      • If the service is stopped, select Start.
      • Select Apply and OK.
      • Restart the PC.
    3. Check the device status in Device Manager.
      • In Device Manager, right-click the iPhone and select Properties.
      • Review the General, Driver, Details, and Events tabs for the current device status and any error code.
      • If Device Manager shows a yellow exclamation mark, use the error code shown there to identify the next action.
    4. If the device shows a driver error such as Code 37 or Code 39, reinstall the driver manually.
      • In Device Manager, right-click the device and select Uninstall.
      • On the menu bar, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
      • If prompted for a driver path and none is available, install the latest driver from the hardware vendor.
    5. If Device Manager shows Code 10, select Update Driver for that device.
    6. If Device Manager shows restart-related errors such as Code 14, Code 42, Code 44, or Code 54, restart the computer and test again after Windows fully loads.

If Apple Mobile Device Service is missing entirely from Services, or the iPhone never appears in Device Manager under Portable Devices or USB controllers, the supported next step in the available guidance is to inspect Device Manager for the exact device state and error code before taking further action.
