Excel cannot copy sheet

Is there any update on when this issue will be fixed? The Copy Sheet function is something we use regularly, and not being able to use it is causing a lot of inconvenience. If there’s no ETA yet, is there any temporary workaround we can use in the meantime to copy sheets between workbooks?

    Hi @Nick Spartan,

I completely understand where you're coming from. As a fellow community member and regular Excel user, I know it's inconvenient when a familiar feature suddenly becomes unavailable.

Based on the latest information I've seen, the teams responsible for Excel are still working on and validating fixes for the affected versions, and the issue appears to be receiving ongoing attention.

Since I'm not part of the product team, I unfortunately don't have any visibility into when the fix will be completed, fully rolled out, or whether a specific timeline has been established yet. As far as I can tell, no clear ETA has been announced so far, and the updates released have mainly been incremental progress reports as the investigation and validation work continues.

In the meantime, you could try opening both workbooks in Excel for the web and copying the sheet there. If that doesn't help, a practical alternative would be to create a copy of the source workbook using File > Create a copy (or Download a copy) and then remove any unnecessary sheets from the duplicate.

I hope this helps keep you updated on the current situation and provides a temporary way to continue working while the fix is being developed. Like many others affected by this issue, I'm also hoping it gets resolved soon so we can get back to using the feature normally.

Thank you for taking the time to follow up on this.
