There is no longer an official download button for Windows 7 Starter. Microsoft ended support for all Windows 7 editions, including Starter, on January 14, 2020, and no longer provides security updates.

Windows 7 Starter was normally preinstalled by the computer manufacturer on small laptops or netbooks. If the computer still works, check whether it has a built-in factory recovery option. The correct key to press varies by manufacturer, so check the computer’s manual or support website.

If the recovery partition is missing, contact the computer manufacturer and ask whether original recovery media is still available for that exact model. This is the safest option because it should include the correct Windows edition, license configuration, and hardware drivers.

It is recommended that you avoid ISO files from torrents, archives, or unofficial download sites. They may have been modified, contain malware, or fail activation. Also, back up any important files before using recovery media because a factory recovery commonly erases the drive.

If possible, consider replacing the device or installing a currently supported operating system, since using Windows 7 online creates significant security risks.
